The latest shooter on the market, Call of Duty: WW2 has been out for almost a week now and, as usual, the game’s dedicated fan-base has already been hard at work in the popular multiplayer game modes. Having had a little time to explore the many weapons of the historical Call of Duty, some of the more observant players have noticed a handful of guns which might be the best choice for soldiers to take with them when heading into the brutal combat of the Second World War.
Although Call of Duty: WW2 has a reasonable amount of balance implemented into its multiplayer mode, there will always be a few weapons which are seen as better in the eyes of the community. Already, a few guns appear to be seen more and more frequently as players realize just how good the old-fashioned weaponry can be. Without further ado, here are the best guns to use in Call of Duty‘s multiplayer:
A weapon that is best used in close-quarters, the PPSH-41 is almost useless at range. Despite this obvious flaw, the gun has seen a great deal of usage in maps with less room to maneuver, as the weapon’s fire rate is capable of destroying any unsuspecting enemy.
This rifle is undoubtedly one of the best weapons in the game but will require substantial grinding to unlock. Only available to those players who manage to reach lvl 55, the SVT-40 boasts incredible range and fire power, taking out enemies in two shots with a relative degree of accuracy and allowing for some of the game’s harder killstreaks to be achieved.
For a rifle, the BAR isn’t one of the fastest to fire, but the weapon has very strong stats all-around. The BAR does solid damage at good range, which makes it a great choice for maps where the player will be running from point to point and shooting at all manner of distances.
The base rifle that players start out with in Call of Duty: WW2 is not to be overlooked, and the M1941 is actually one of the better weapons found in the game. By utilizing some of the game’s customization options and adding a scope and a stabilizer to the gun can lead to the M1941’s incredible fire rate dealing some devastating damage at a semi-decent range.
The first light machine gun that players can unlock, the Lewis is one of the best guns to be found in the new WW2 shooter. Although the weapon will take some time to lay down a rain of bullets, it can do so at great range with surprisingly good accuracy. While it’s best to bring the Lewis out on more wide-open maps, the gun might prove to be out-matched in close-quarters situations.
Those who are yet to pick up their copy of Call of Duty: WW2 should do so soon in order to take advantage of the game’s limited-time free DLC before it expires in a little over a week’s time. The Pathfinder Pack will give players exclusive bonuses that are sure to prove useful in multiplayer, but the extra content will soon become unavailable to all those who are yet to claim it.
Call of Duty: WW2 is out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
